Design for CovidWire
Graphic Design | Branding

CovidWire was a non-profit initiative that brought information about COVID-19 from across media platforms into a single web app - Covidwire.in. Besides making news about COVID-19 easily available across regional languages, major objectives of ours were to battle misinformation and prevent widespread panic. As head of Graphic Design, my job was to interpret the founders’ vision and create an identity that resonated with these objectives.

Apart from overseeing the branding and assisting the UI design team, I was coordinatind a team of illustrators and visual designers as we worked closesly with the social media team to create a strong and engaging online presence. The process was a rapid one as we were required to release announcements and keep up with the new developments on a daily basis.

A part of promoting an atmosphere of calm during a crisis involved rapidly designing friendly, easily replicable characters for the app, who all reflected the spirit of the initiative. One of these characters was the mascot - the friendly news fetching dog.
